It's no secret that Allison loves journalism. Any opportunity to
talk about it is one that she can't pass up and this episode gave
her that chance.
The guest is Callie Starnes, news director at WRCB-TV in
Chattanooga, Tenn. It is an especially special episode because in
Allison's late high school years she watched Callie Starnes report
the news each evening with her mom at the dinner table.
Allison and Callie chat about her role as the first woman to be
news director at WRCB-TV and what exactly the role of a news
director encompasses. We also chat about combatting fake news,
changes Callie has made in her newsroom and what it's like working
in a very conservative area of the nation.
